Shootathon Success With Video

The basketball shootathon was an amazing success.

I have to admit when Roger Weeder of First Coast News did the initial interview I wasn’t sure how everything would work out.

See below the first story.

Then there was the shootathon. A huge thank you goes to John Phillips for supporting and Vic Miccolucci of News 4 Jax for covering the story.

After the above story aired we got a huge push from Jay and Diane Higbee of Foland and Higbee Real Estate. See below.

The basketball shootathon was a tremendous success. I am sore, but extremely pleased with the results.

Huge thank yous are in order to Attorney John Phillips, Foland & Higbee Real Estate, and WJXT. Their generosity helped make this project an overwhelming success.

I want to share more now. However, I have to prepare for the beginning of a new school week.

There is still time to chip in. Go to and click invest. Tell a friend too!

I will share more details tomorrow.

Big Update

Great news! I received a call back from the venue rep. All dates proposed for the something-a-thon were open to have the event. As mentioned in yesterday’s post. If we are willing to see our ideas come into fruition, we must invite people into our journey. After the invitation to the journey, we must give them a role to play.

We are making great progress!

The more this process unfolds, the more I realize how important it is to stay focused and be persistent. In moments of discouragement I have to remind myself why I am doing this- for my students.
