CP to CP #2 (Church Planter to Church Planter) – REST
I’m really enjoying the men’s retreat. It’s been a time of great refreshing! To hear life stories from men older, younger, and my age is phenomenal. I don’t regret coming to St. Simons Island, GA @ Epworth By The Sea. This place is special for many reasons.
However, I must admit, I almost didn’t come on this trip, because I’m concerned about the upcoming “Oceanway Appreciation Day.” I could have allowed my time to be consumed with making sure that everything is in place for a successful community service project.
Nevertheless, I learned a valuable lesson from Pastor Hall last night in his remarks. In many words he affirmed the need for men to take time to unwind, relax, and be recharged. My advice to any church planter is find the the time to take a break. I’m a firm believer in diligent work ethics, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take time-out. Learn to find time, borrow time, or just simply take the time- to rest.
I know we haven’t officially launched, but I thought I would give you a small nugget from my experiences as a church planter. Take time to rest.
