Our ability to push past the places of discomfort is key. Better yet, it is essential. It can not be underestimated. Perseverance is not just a word. It-is-an-action.
Even as I write, it is very late. I am tired. I just found out that someone my age has had a heart attack and is need of a new heart. This was a shock to me, because I’ve heard of people needing support and prayer at a young age with severe health challenges. But, I never knew any of them.
Discomfort is a huge test to our character and will. It separates the men from the boys and the women from the girls. Many like to stay in their comfort zones because of familiarity and _________________ (you fill in the blank). What is the reason? There are many.
I believe that God allows us to go through seasons of discomfort to build character and grow in faith.
Discomfort is not bad. It’s in our perception. Is the glass half full or half empty? There will always be more that we want to accomplish. Wish things were going better in certain areas of our lives. Relationships we wish we had. Etc, etc, etc.
It’s what we do with discomfort that gives us the ability to transcend above the adversity we face in life. This dis-comfort that you and I are facing right now should be used as a stepping stone to grow closer to God. And get a new perspective about where you are in life. Trouble isn’t associated with people that are moving towards purpose. Count it an honor when you go through what you are going through.
Rise above it. Allow the wings of faith to lift you to a place of freedom that’s only possible in that place of God for those who trust in him.
