Creating A Social Media Event

Pushing A Series For Greater Clarity

Today, we begin a series entitled Creating A Local Social Media Event. What? Yep, we’re going to walk through this process together.

This is first time I’ve planned out a series, thanks to my participation in Blog X. If you want to create a series of your own for your blog…learn how here.

So what will the series cover? More importantly, why? Glad you asked.

The purpose of the series is to share the story of a local experience that engages Jacksonville through social media. One of the outcomes of the blog is to have an honorable event for those who use it. Sounds intriguing? I think so.

Now that I’ve briefly answered why. Let me attempt to share a glimpse of what we’ll be covering:

  • Branding
  • Twitter And Hashtags
  • Rules Of Engagement
  • Categorically Speaking
  • Award Me
  • Getting In the Game
  • Show Me The Money

I’m sharing this with you to enjoy the experience with me. I hope at the end of the series you have a clear picture of what potentially will take place in Jacksonville.

Over the next week we will discover the process of bringing this event to pass. What good is it to have goals if there is no attainment of it? It is point less. I wrote about the importance of having SMART Goals a few days ago. You can read it here.

There is much to cover. Much to learn. And certainly much to celebrate. The above bullet points are a condensed list of what I originally drafted. The first list had ten plus items. I shortened the list because I saw where there was overlap. Hopefully, we can cover everything needed in seven days.

Enjoy the ride!
