Thoughts On Part-time Church Planting

My wife has been encouraging me to be more transparent in my blog. I thought long how I should begin the process of being more open about my life as a church planter. An essay would’ve been too long, so I’ll keep it brief on the first go round. Here it is….
1. I’m a part-time church planter. That’s a problem. Why? It’s difficult to build a team and handle all the other things that come along with starting a ministry from the ground up with out having the full attention to devote to it.
2. I’m a part-time church planter. That’s another problem. Why? There are too many needs that have to be attended to i.e. extra time with family because I have to stay up late just to get most of the work done.
3. I’m a part-time church planter. That’s another problem.  Why? I haven’t been able to raise the monetary support that most planters have in place before they officially launch.
4. I’m a part-time church planter. That’s another problem. Why? Being bi-vocational is complex for me. Because of my job, a number of intiatives that I would propose as a Pastor get side-stepped due to the fact that I work for the local school district.
5. I’m a part-time church planter. That’s a good thing. Why? Because God gives me the grace to do what he’s called me to do in the midst of numbers 1-4.
