5 Reasons Why You Need A Blog Partner

I’ve been blogging (consistently) for about two years. John of Tentblogger has been extremely helpful in recent days to help fine tune the why and how of blogging.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak by phone with my blog partner Blane Young. It’s the first time I spoke with someone about blogging…. specifically, my blog. We shared a lot of great ideas about our references for blogging and plans for the future. While I won’t go into detail regarding all of what’s ahead. I can assure of one thing it will be GOOD. That’s a hint 🙂

More importantly, here’s what I learned after talking with Blane. I’m sharing these, because I’m almost certain (so was Blane) that our paths are likely to have never crossed with out this post.

Here are five things I learned that may be of help to you:

  1. Never be afraid to improve
  2. Never be too wise to learn something new from someone else
  3. You can broaden your horizons by listening to people outside of your circle
  4. Except constructive push back, just like positive feedback
  5. Extend the conversation with an actionable follow up (something GOOD is about to happen)

What If?

Certainly, the above clip is inspiring! Especially, if you remember watching Michael Jordan during his time in the NBA. NBA 2K11 recently launched and has been all buzz because of #23. 🙂

As I continue to walk this path of a TentBlogger some thoughts came to mind as a result of this video title….what if?

  • What if, I could do something everyday for the remainder of 2010 that I truly enjoy?

  • What if, I could be part of the process to show HIS glory in the earth?

  • What if, a small investment would make huge difference in the life of another individual?

  • What if, giving was not complicated?

  • What if, $1 ________________ ? (you fill in the blank)

Confirmed by this post. Giving is fun to me. Thus, I’m on a mission to tell the story of how much good can be done with $1.

Thanks for being part of the journey!

Six Months Ago!

Six months ago today I transitioned from a large organization of over 14,000 employees to pursue my dream. It’s been all God! Thank you Lord!

I admit. I was very comfortable and my future was bright. However, I believed (and still do) there was something else that I was to do in life. I could write more about transition and taking steps of faith to accomplish your purpose in life, but I’ll save that for another day.

I do have one question: What dream do you have that you’re willing to make a major change  in your life to accomplish?

Over the past few days I’ve been mentioning something BIG was coming! Well…..early this morning it launched. NuCafe.tv is live. Nucafe is an online 24/7 TV network. The Bible warns us not to despise the day of small beginning. So even though there is only a single channel, more are to come!

Check it out at www.nucafe.tv/ !

The Road Not Taken- Robert Frost

This is one of my favorite poems. We all face challenging times in life. The key is perseverance. You’ll never get there if you stop. Along with persevering, is the important aspect of making the right-informed decision.

Robert Frost’s poem is a good example of the rewards of risk taking that come from taking unordinary routes. Every successful pathway doesn’t include the most frequented route. Sometimes, we must be willing to go against the grain. This requires courage and faith in God that He always has our best interest in mind.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

-Robert Frost
