Work In Progress

Sometimes you have to slow down to get where you're going

I know it’s a few days since I made a post.  There is work in progress behind the scenes. Prayer, research, and planning. Most of it for Image Church.

I’m still in the grind to lead the work I believe God has called me to do in Jacksonville. It’s just a bit difficult to juggle some things right now.

2 Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

If anyone is reading this intending to plant a church, believe me, it takes great sacrifice and hard work.

I thought I would make a brief post, then get back to the tasks at hand.

Thanks for your prayers. 🙂

Leverage The Necessary

If there is one constant I’ve discovered about life is the undeniable fact that too often times we devote too much attention to the unnecessary.

Sure, there are things in life that we must do to maintain day-to-day living. However, after those few tasks are complete they are done, finished, should not be touched again until necessary.

Leveraging anything means that you maximize that which is needful to achieve a desired goal (this definition is not found in Webster).

There will always be activities that consume our time that may not fit in the most important tasks column. Yet, we must maintain focus on that which brings us closer to fulfilling our purpose in life.

My challenge to all of us is that we strive to look at that which brings us closer to alignment of our assignment, not that which takes us away. There is power in agreement. Allow me to re-phrase. There is power in agreement in that which is necessary.

Do those things today that bring you closer to what God has called you to do. Watch him move on your behalf!

Access Denied Again

Yesterday,  I received an email I was hoping to receive, but I didn’t get the answer I was expecting.

I have been in talks with Florida State College Of Jacksonville-North Campus representatives. They declined our use of the facility. Request was made to use additional space to accommodate children’s ministry. Well, the extra space I thought would be available wasn’t. See the questions I asked here.

My quest to find a location for our church plant to meet continues.

This makes the second huge NO this year. You can read about the previous one by clicking here.

I desire your prayers that God will open a door for us to have our weekend worship experiences.

I’ll keep grinding. 🙂
