Filters Are Necessary

Filters get rid of the bad stuff.

I posted part one of Brand vs Filter  two part series yesterday.

Three of the most important words from the post are: “change, impact, action.” Filters, in my opinion, have the unique ability to get people headed in the direction that they want to go. Not forced, not persuaded, not even manipulated. But because of their unique ability to inspire people to look inwardly at their own potential to dream like never before that cause people to CHANGE, ACT, and undoubtedly make an impact within their sphere of influence.

Filters, release what’s good only because they were willing to keep back all the bad stuff in their “filter.” A water filter is not best known for how good it looks. Instead filters are known for how much great tasting water they release.

If we are to be quality filters. We must learn how to release the fruit from our frustrations. I know we’ve all had some very difficult episodes in life. These historical events only have an impact on our future if we allow them to control our next steps.

We should make it our goal to become quality filters in the earth so that others may not look at us, but at themselves to become all that God intended them to be.

Leverage The Necessary

If there is one constant I’ve discovered about life is the undeniable fact that too often times we devote too much attention to the unnecessary.

Sure, there are things in life that we must do to maintain day-to-day living. However, after those few tasks are complete they are done, finished, should not be touched again until necessary.

Leveraging anything means that you maximize that which is needful to achieve a desired goal (this definition is not found in Webster).

There will always be activities that consume our time that may not fit in the most important tasks column. Yet, we must maintain focus on that which brings us closer to fulfilling our purpose in life.

My challenge to all of us is that we strive to look at that which brings us closer to alignment of our assignment, not that which takes us away. There is power in agreement. Allow me to re-phrase. There is power in agreement in that which is necessary.

Do those things today that bring you closer to what God has called you to do. Watch him move on your behalf!

Silent GOOD People

Today, marks the 25th anniversary of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday. Personally, I think it’s more about the legacy of his fight for equality and justice than it is about him as a person.

One of my favorite quotes from him is….

“History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.”

Belive it or not, there are a lot of Silent GOOD people in the earth. Think about it….. Silent-GOOD-people. Those that have the skill, talent, capacity, and intellect, but choose to do nothing or ignore the clarion call to get up and let their voice be heard!

Here a three examples to consider: Continue Reading →
