Re-emerge

There comes a time in each of our lives that we have to take time to evaluate where we’ve been, where we are, and where we believe God is leading.

Often, we wrestle with what we know may be true because of the discomfort it may cause. What will people think? What if I fail? Who else is doing it? All of these questions are valid, but they should not be the decision maker for you.

So what if you’ve had hardships in the past! Who hasn’t? So what if you don’t have all the resources you think you need! Who has it all anyway?

This is just a post of encouragment to Re-emerge and do all God has called you to BE and DO.

Blesssings. Peace. 🙂

NBA Season Opener Talk Will Become Action

The NBA Season is here. Am I excited? Yes! The marquee matchup tonight between the Celtics and Heat is sure to be one of the most memorable  season openers. I’ve posted the video below because of a phrase at the end of the game hype builder…..”talk will become _____________.”

For the past 25 days I’ve tried earnestly to let my actions do the talking. GOOD Everyday has inpsired me to push further to help bring awareness to causes that I’m passionate about and to do more in a significant way. I am still thinking through some of the ideas, but I know that mere thinking about ideas doesn’t get anything accomplished. You must do something. I tweet– Prayer. Hard work. Hustle. It’s true! Nothing in life (at least in mine) comes easy. Persevere. Turn your frustration into fruit.

Leave a comment. Finish the sentence. “Talk will become __________.”

Stick With It Or Abandon It?

We all have moments in our life like the clip above to stick with or abandon our mission/purpose/calling in life. Yes, often we have very valid reasons to support either decision. Hopefully, you make the choice that honors God the most.

Keep pushing! Dream BIG 🙂

Fence Huggers

You hold on to the thin pieces of steel.

You grip ever so tightly, that imprints are left in the palm of your hands.

You are not alone. There are others along side of you. You don’t consider yourself a gang. But looking at the imprints of your hands, you might as well be.

You contemplate and agonize, but your feelings of uncomfortableness never cause you to take action.

You live in a state of regret, constantly watching.

You inwardly despise people when you see others that are doing what you are supposed to be doing. But actually you’re hating on yourself.

You and your spouse are tired of your one more “brand new idea” for the 50th time this year.

You are not the biggest loser, because you haven’t attempted anything.

You are a fence hugger.

That’s right. Someone that clings to shoulda, coulda, woulda! (did I spell that right?)

Fence huggers are obsessed with the paralysis of analysis.

Fence huggers never try anything, except sayings like “I’m gonna.”

Fence huggers are too afraid to take step one.

Fence huggers blame everyone else for their problems.

Fence huggers are often consumed with anxiety about being stuck like chuck. 🙂 That’s not funny 🙁 It’s sad.

Fence huggers are ________ (you fill in the blank).

Fence huggers read a post like this and don’t leave a comment.

Are you a fence hugger?

Brand vs Filter- Part 2

I posted part one of Brand vs Filter last month. I didn’t think that it would be this long before I reflected back on the topic, but something is brewing in me that I can’t quite explain.

The three words that I remember the most from the earlier post are: “change, impact, action.” Filters, in my opinion, have the unique ability to get people headed in the direction that they want to go. Not forced, not persuaded, not even manipulated. But because of their unique ability to inspire people to look inwardly at their own potential to dream like never before that cause people to CHANGE, ACT, and undoubtedly make an impact within their sphere of influence.

What does this have to do with The Grind & The Glory? I’m glad you asked.

Filters, release what’s good only because they were willing to keep back all the bad stuff in their “filter.” A water filter is not best known for how good it looks. Instead filters are known for how much great tasting water they release.

If we are to be quality filters. We must learn how to release the fruit from our frustrations. I know we’ve all had some very difficult episodes in life. These historical events only have an impact on our future if we allow them to control our next steps.

We should make it our goal to become quality filters in the earth so that others may not look at us, but at themselves to become all that God intended them to be.
